The Beacon Church of England (VA) Primary
Town centre Nativity
The Beacon School pupils are to perform a traditional Nativity with live farm animals and carol singing at the town's Christmas Cracker events on Friday 4th December.
Open Afternoon Success

The Beacon held a very successsful open afternoon where past pupils, present and future parents, grandparents and friends visited to share in what is happening in our school. Our children were proud to show others what we do here and enjoyed sharing their skills and talents. Left is one of our pupils playing as part of our instant band, which consists of drums, electric guitars and keyboards.
European Visitors
Teachers from Turkey, Italy, Spain and
Wales were in our school early in October
learning about The English Education
System and our school's good practices. We are one of a small percentage of English schools selected by The British
Council and funded by The European
Union to be involved in a two year
partnership which sees us exchanging
work, sharing practices and learning more about the wider world.
In October, most of the school went on a boat trip up the estuary. Despite the atrocious weather, there was lots of fun and laughter! When arriving back at school slightly damp, children enjoyed hot drinks before leaving for home. In contrast, year 6 had a gloriously sunny day when they went to the beach the following day! The Online application facility for a place to start at a Primary School in September 2010/January 2011 is now available.
Boat Trip and Beach Trip
In order to obtain a place at Primary school for the 2010/11 school year, your child's date of birth should fall between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006. The system for Primary applications will open on 1st November 2009 and close at midnight on 15th January 2010.

Active Mark
Our school has been awarded 'Active Mark' in recognition of the high quality PE and sports delivered to our pupils. This recognition comes on top of our successes last year where our year 5/6 boys became Exmouth Area Football Champions and our tennis team won the 'Keep it Going' tennis competition, open to all schools in our area.
