Christmas Performances 
All pupils were involved in our very successful Christmas performances. Lower school not only performed the traditional Nativity at Holy Trinity but also led celebrations in the town centre's Christmas Cracker events. Upper school performed a 'world premiere' of a new musical, Bethlehem. Composer Nigel Walsh said “Richard Skinner and I are thrilled that The Beacon School has taken on the challenging task of this first performance. Whenever I have dropped in on rehearsals, I have been overwhelmed by the children’s talent, commitment and enthusiasm." The performances were outstanding. Well done to everyone.
Instant Band Success
Year 6s at The Beacon have weekly band lessons where they get the opportunity to play keyboards, drums and electric guitars! This great opportunity is proving a great hit with our musically talented pupils who already have brass instrumental lessons. Pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 have whole class trumpet tuition and regularly perform to the wider community. This month they have played at the pavilion and at Exeter Cathedral.
The Online application facility for a place to start at a Primary School in September 2010/January 2011 is now available.
In order to obtain a place at Primary school for the 2010/11 school year, your child's date of birth should fall between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006. The system for Primary applications will open on 1st November 2009 and close at midnight on 15th January 2010.
